PLOT to POT:
This year, Ballyhoura Development is hosting a learning series on biodiversity in the local area. The series will include local biodiversity workshops; indoors, outdoors and online. There will be discussions on the benefits of biodiversity for food, health and the climate. Learn about food production in the Ballyhoura region throughout the seasons and how this can benefit our health, create a new community space and show how food is produced in Ireland.
The seasons of Ireland provide a temperate climate which encourages different foods to grow throughout the seasons. The panellists will look at the many different benefits growing your own food can have, from nutritional benefits, tips and tricks on when to plant, maintaining your vegetable patch, and a discussion on how allotments can help a community grow together.
The first workshop is kicking off on the 21st of February with an online discussion on Eating With The Seasons (Plot to Pot) with three local knowledgeable specialists on the panel.
