WALKING FOR ST. JOSEPH's: Marietta is nearly finished walking - 100 miles in aid of St. Joseph's Foundation! You can still sponsor Marietta on - www.idonate.ie/MariettaSheehan.
WHY SHOP LOCAL: It was powerfully brought home to us in the 'Granagh Backs Amanda' fundraiser, how important our businesses in the local and surrounding areas are. We walked into their shops, asked for their help and they all supported us, no questions asked. Can you imagine how often they are asked for sponsorship for local events ? If they support us we should try and support them, whenever we can. You may say they are more expensive, but, they are employing locals, paying a fair wage and work conditions are good compared to many places overseas. Thinking ahead for Christmas, it would be a great boost to these businesses, to give them your custom as a 'thank you'. Shop local/shop Ireland. GRANAGH BACKS AMANDA: As a result of the amazing generosity shown to the family, Amanda and Daniel have decided that they will donate a lump sum to a local fund, which will be set up in the next few months. Cancer care will be at the top of the list, but a lot of details, legal and otherwise, have to be ironed out.
