NOVEMBER - We Remember.
CHURCH MATTERS:
Sincere thanks to our Bereavement Group who arranged the annual Remembrance
Mass, which was held last Sunday. So much work has to be done in the background before anything happens, contacting families, scripting prayers, liaising with Roisín, arranging readers etc. The deceased we remembered especially this year were, Anne Moran, Betty Darcy, Denis Sexton & Essie Chawke. Their names were displayed on a scroll, with Marian O'Connor's beautiful calligraphy.
The Pascal Candle was brought to the Altar by David Sexton, a bunch of flowers by Ann Moran and a basket of Leaves by Esther Hickey. Before Mass a special candle was brought to the Altar by a family member, to remember each of the deceased - Ann Moran, Liam Darcy, Carmel Sexton & Siobhán Tuohy.
As always, babies who have been laid to rest in Cillíns were prayed for and a candle for the baby girls was brought up by Bella Stapleton and one for the baby boys by Conor Sexton.
The Readings were done by Liam Darcy; Prayers of the Faithful by Tina McMahon; Reading by John Bennett.
The Gifts were taken up by Margaret Sheehan & Stephen Stapleton. The Reflection was read by Aoife Barrett.
It turned out to be a candlelight Mass as the lights started flickering and then went out. However it happened to be a perfect backdrop for the night in question.
Thought for the Week: When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.!
CONCERN:
