Granagh - " Photos from the Past" -- Facebook Page:

A very interesting Facebook page set up by Marie Vaughan ( nee Collins) of Collins's Shop, Granagh. She explains why she set it up:-

" This group is intended to be a space to honour our parents and grandparents and maybe even our Great grandparents from the parish of Granagh, Kilmeedy, Croom, Ballingarry, where I am excited to share photographs gathered at an early age, from both sides of my family.

These treasured snapshots predominantly feature friends and families from Granagh and the surrounding parishes. My hope is to connect with others who may not have photos of their ancestors, offering these as shared family treasures.

If you come across a familiar face, please feel free to download and cherish these photos. While some are labelled with names, many are not, and I would deeply appreciate any help in identifying these individuals.

For the past 10 years, I have been passionately working on my family tree. This journey has extended into exploring family trees connected to mine, and even some that are not. I also love piecing together and writing down the stories of our ancestors' lives, gathered from various documents like birth and marriage certificates. I will share all these stories later.

I warmly invite you to share any ancestral photos from Granagh or the neighbouring areas. Your contributions will enrich our collective history and keep the memories of our parents, grandparents, and beyond alive.

Joining is simple – just click on the "join" button, on the FBk page.!

Together, we can ensure that these precious memories are preserved and celebrated. Every life holds its own unique value and meaning, and it’s up to us to remember and honour them."
