Our sympathies to the family of Brian Dunworth, Banogue, who died suddenly on June 4th at University Hospital. Very deeply regretted by his sorrowing family, mother Mary, brother Cyril, sisters Helen Morrissey, Bernie, Patsy Power, Fran O'Shaughnessy and Christine, relatives and friends. He was reposed at O'Grady's Funeral Home with removal to St.Peter & Paul's Church, Banogue. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Saturday June 8th,with burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Sincere sympathy to the family of the late John Lyons, Bruree who passed peacefully at University Hospital on Sunday 9th. Predeceased by his wife Rita and the late twins Aisling and Niamh. Deeply regretted by his daughters Sinead & Eva , brother Michael, sister Mai, relatives and a large circle of friends. He was reposed at his residence on Tuesday with Requiem Mass on Wednesday and interment afterwards in Bruree Old Cemetery. Go dtuga Día suaimhneas sioraí da anam uasal.

WEDDING: Congratulations to Lisa Kelly & Danny Baker, Graigacurra, who were married on Friday 7th, in Sneem. Granagh got all the showers, while the weather held- up for their lovely outdoor ceremony. Danny's family, over from Australia, certainly got a variety of weather for their stay. Wishing the newly-weds a lifetime of love and happiness. May the years ahead be filled with lasting joy as you build your new lives together.

QUILT EXHIBITION: On Thursday 13th June. 7pm - 9pm. in the Limerick School of Art and Design you are invited to the official opening of the 14th Annual River of Dreams Quilt Exhibition. Tea\Coffee and delicious home made cakes will be there to welcome you provided by Miss Marples Tea Rooms. Everyone is welcome.

CRUINNIÚ na nÓg : Saturday 15th June: Now in its second year, Cruinniú na nÓg celebrates and encourages participation by children and young people in creative activities in their local neighbourhoods and communities. Highlights of this Limerick’s Cruinniú na nÓg include: • Shadow Animation workshops 5-10yr Olds Libraries Granary Limerick, Watch House Cross, Dooradoyle, Adare, Kilmallock and Newcastle West • A hands-on 3-hour workshop for teens interested in filmmaking, called One Minute Wonders! 14-18-year-olds Limerick Youth Services City Centre, Killfinane, Newcastle West and Cappamore • Stop Motion Animation Hunt Museum 6-8 & 9-12-year-olds : These fun and exciting workshops will enable young people to experience each step of the Stop Motion process to produce a short animated film. SUMMER PROMS : Saturday 22nd June at 8pm. UCH: The Military Bands and Pipes of the Defence Forces, return to University Concert Hall for the now annual Summer Proms, performing delightful operatic arias, musical numbers and rousing military band tunes. Limerick’s Sarah Dolan (soprano) will join them for what will be a hugely enjoyable evening .

CONGRATULATIONS: We send our congratulations to Canon Joe Shire, Ballyagran, who celebrated the 40th Anniversary of his Ordination with a parish Mass on Saturday last.

RATHFREDAGH FETE: Volunteers need for the annual Garden Fete which will be held on Sunday the 7th of July. Volunteers to man the stalls, man the gates, sell lines for the raffle during the weeks leading up to the Fete, etc. If you're interested and can help out, please contact Rathfredagh Cheshire home. 069 83100. Goods for the Fete can be dropped in anytime. They're looking for bric-a-brac, still wearable clothes, plants, books, CD's and DVD's, full bottles for our bottle stall (from alcoholic drinks to vinegar and lemonades, etc) and raffle prizes. All for a great cause.
