3 HAIL MARYS: A Comedy coming to the Lime Tree this Thursday & Friday, 27th ,28th Sept. This nursing home experience will have you in tears of laughter and is the work of Tommy Marren – writer of the hit comedies ‘It’s the Real McCoy’ and ‘Nobody’s Talking To Me’. We join the residents of St. Mary’s nursing home on a very special Friday. Some of the residents are being moved to new nursing homes in different parts of Ireland and for Mary O’Toole, Mary O’Neill and Mary O’Brien it’s the end of an era. For over ten years they’ve lived together in the nursing home and despite memory lapses, the odd tantrum and a lot of confusion they have become almost inseparable. These 3 Hail Marys are no ordinary Marys!

SYMPHONY FOR OUR WORLD: It's almost here, National Geographic’s incredible spectacle will have its European premiere in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick on this coming Saturday 29th September, at 6.00pm. This once-in-a-lifetime show was a sell-out success throughout the US, leaving audiences spellbound, and for one night only it is coming to Limerick, for its European début ! Symphony for Our World combines awe-inspiring natural history footage perfectly synchronised with an original symphony, performed live on stage by the National Geographic Symphony Orchestra. The impressive 80-piece orchestra will perform the symphony and theme with the Limerick Chamber Choir to an audience seated in the Mackey Stand. The audience will be treated to a 90-minute symphonic experience, a feast for the eyes, for the ears and for the heart !
SAVE THE PLANET in EASY STEPS: It's not easy being eco-friendly but every small effort helps. Did you know - every day approximately 8 million pieces of plastic pollution find their way into our oceans.!!! A terrifying fact: a plastic bottle can last for 450 years in the ocean, breaking down into smaller fragments over time. Single-use plastics (think the packaging on grapes, the water bottle ) are regular culprits. Some easy switches you can make to become a bit more environmentally friendly and little kinder to our planet.
*** Ditch paper towels ; The high environmental impact of producing, transporting and disposing of paper towels ( after just one use) means that there is a 10g CO2ecarbon footprint per paper towel you use!! *** Take a second each time you reach for the cling film or put your lunch into a sandwich bag. It’s frightening to realise just how much single-use plastic has become an everyday item. Invest in a few glass storage dishes for leftovers and opt for some recyclable greaseproof paper to wrap sandwiches in. *** Find a local market; As well as supporting local producers, buying your fruit and veg from a local market has the added benefit of reducing single-use plastic. *** Use Natural cleaning products; Chemical cleaning products can impact on your health and the environment. Luckily, brands such as Method and Ecover are available in most supermarkets and are devoid of harmful chemicals. Plus both brands make their bottles from recycled plastic.
