Limerick Writers' Centre presents A Bus Tour of West Limerick and Maigue Poets Country,12 noon to 4.00pm. A Magical trip around Co Limerick for a guided tour of places associated with the poets of the Gaelic tradition:- Michael Hartnett; Daithi O Bruadair; Sean O Tuama and many more, taking in Newcastle West, Broadford; Ardagh/Athea; Bruree and Croom, - home of The Maigue Poets.

Your tour guide will be the very knowledgeable An tAthair Michéal dé Liostuín. Cost per person is €15 and booking in advance is required. Tour starts outside Dolans Pub, Dock Rd, Limerick 12 noon. Fri 24th Aug.

CHOMHBHRÓN :

Our sympathies to the family of Nell Ahern who died peacefully on July 22nd,in the wonderful care of St.Ita's Hospital,Newcastle West.

She is survived by her grandchildren Mary, Patrick and Ellen, great-granddaughter Martina, sister-in-law Josie, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

She was reposed at O'Grady's Funeral Home, with removal to St.John the Baptist Church Croagh. Requiem Mass was held on Saturday with burial afterwards in Croagh Old Cemetery. Go dtuga Día solas sioraí dí .

BADMINTON ANYONE? Bruree Badminton operates every Monday night 7pm to 8.30pm for juveniles; 8.30pm to 10pm for secondary school and adults. Kids only 2euro each and adults 3euro each. Please note you must be a club member to play and you must join the club to be insured.

STETSONS & STILETTOS: The Castletown Country Festival is back bigger and better for its 10th year running from Friday 17th of August until Sunday 19th of August.

This year’s music line-up includes Johnny Brady, Cliona Hagan and Marty Mone.

For the first time ever, a Truck Show on Sunday the 19th of August in aid of Milford Care Centre.

Alongside a Family Funday including a Kids Tractor Run at 2,00pm, Meet and Greet with Marty Mone and his Bullnose Truck from 3.

00pm and a Large selection of Inflatable Amusements, Food Trucks, Trade Stands, Live Coverage of the All Ireland Final on the big screen and much more, throughout the day.

CHURCH COLLECTIONS:

Many thanks to all who contributed so generously to the Milford Hospice collection over the weekend. Thanks to Joan Brosnan for standing with me in Granagh, total received E422. In Ballingarry, thanks to Marie Higgins and Mary O'Carroll-Lynch for standing and their total was E551.70. Marie's father Jack and his neighbour Paddy Benson (Rip) had been doing this collection for a long number of years. Jack is after hip surgery and we wish him a speedy recovery.

The next upcoming collection will be for the Irish Wheelchair Association on the 18th and 19th August.

FAIRY TEA PARTY:

I bet lots of little people would be interested to hear about a fairy trail and tea party to be held in the grounds of the Mustard Seed on Saturday August 4th, 2pm-5pm.

CHARITY CEILÍ:

Friday 10th August: Charity Ceilí in Knockaderry Community Center for the Irish Cancer Society. Starting at 9:30pm to 1am, Striolán Ceilí will be providing the music on the night. Teas will be served and spot prizes also on the night.
