Golden Years.

Heartiest Congratulations to Anne and Johnny Sheehan, Ballinleena, who recently celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary. Wishing you both many more happy celebrations.

EASTER CEREMONIES:

Good crowds attended all the ceremonies last week. The Liturgy team put in a lot of preparation and the Alter was dressed beautifully for each of the ceremonies. On Easter Sunday we welcomed 12 new little people to the Church, - the babies who were baptised during 2015 were invited back. Along with the clocks going forward an hour , it was an extra early start to get everyone organised so early, so it was great to see them. We are delighted to welcome the following: - Bella O'Hara and parents Kaylee & Jason. Sally Cullinane and parents John & Sarah. Sadie Hanrahan and parents Seamus & Norma. Kacie Scanlon and her mum Catriona. Niamh Hartigan and parents Tom & Noreen. James Ahern and parents Seamus & Carol. Oran Kiely and parents Vincent & Rosemary. Evan McDonagh and parents Paul & Caren. Donnacha Noonan and parents Denis & Grainne. Ollie Kennedy and parents Paul & Catriona. Killian Tierney and parents Daniel & Amanda. Cullen Kelliher and parents Paul & Niamh. Missing on the day was Kacie Mills and parents Ailish & Keelan who live in Majorca. Also, Lia Scannell and parents Aoife & Antony were missing due to illness.

CANCER COLLECTION:

This coming weekend, 2nd and 3rd April, the Irish Cancer Society will be holding their annual church gate collection at both masses. Any support you can give them would be appreciated.

GRANAGH UTD:

Results: Granagh 5 - Kilcolman 1. Scorers - Jack Fitzggerald and Paudie Murphy 2 each, Cian O'Carroll 1.

WEB SITE:

The parish web site is filling up with lots of information and photos - ( www.granagh.com ). Very interesting information has been added to the History section. 5,000 students from all over the Irish Free State were enlisted to collect folklore in their home areas, 1937 - 1939. Granagh school under principal Mr. Speiran took part and you can see their stories, on the actual pages of their copybooks, in their original beautiful handwriting, with names and addresses included.

Don't forget our Granagh - Gramm . Lots of people will be heading off on holidays during the Summer and it would be great to see your photos from Ireland and further afield. Once you download ' Instagram ' to your phone you can then send the photos to the web page by adding the #granagh - in the description field.

GRANAGH & 1916:

The parish commemoration of 1916 will be held on Sunday 24th April at 6.30pm.

Jim Chawke is looking for as many men & women of all ages, teens and children to take part.

You can be part of the crowd marching, joining in songs/poetry, some people will be needed to act out the scenes while the narrator tells the story.

Anyone who thinks they want to be part of it in any way, please pass you name and number to Jim. There will be two practises prior to the 24th April. Looking forward to hearing from as many as possible.
