U12 Invitational County Final

There was great excitement in Mungret last Thursday night when our U12s won the final of the Invitational County Competition. In a very tight match with very little between the teams until the later stages of the game with some great camogie skills on show from both teams. Both teams worked really hard and it was a great game to watch, with the girls in Black and White edging out a great win in the end. The girls have been playing great all year and the 2016 season can’t come quick enough ! Senior Semi Final

On Sunday last our seniors took on Ahane in the County Semi Final at Crecora. It proved to be very entertaining match with very little between the 2 sides. Our girls had a blistering start with a goal from Vera Sheehan in the opening minutes to settle the nerves. This gave the girls the ideal start but an injury to the Ahane goalkeeper Sile Moynihan mid way through the first half which stopped the game for several minutes allowed Ahane to regroup and the match became a much tighter affair for the remainder of the first half. The 2nd half started off in a similar fashion with 2 quick points and a goal from gave Granagh Ballingarry a bit of breathing space for a few minutes but Ahane came back strongly towards the end of the match but thankfully our girls had an enough of a lead built up to see out the match. The girls now face old rivals, Kileedy in the County Final next Sunday. Mike O’ Brien Tournament

The Annual Mike O’Brien Tournament took place last Sunday at Ballingarry GAA grounds and it proved to be another great day. Thank you to Crecora, Effin, Newcastlewest and Knockaderry for participating. Thank you also to everyone who helped on the day as well as all the people who brought food. It was very much appreciated. It was great to see such big numbers on the day and it was a great way to finish up the camogie season for our Juvenile teams.
